Today, Tesla’s overseas official announced on the X (Twitter) platform that it will begin pushing the 2024.20 software version update, which includes optimizations for adaptive headlights, air conditioning systems, and in-car games.
Innovation in adaptive headlight technology
The main highlight of this update is the improvement of the adaptive headlight function for models equipped with matrix LED headlights. Tesla wrote in the update log: “Adaptive headlights will be able to adjust to the curves of the road and provide stronger lighting when driving on the highway.”
In Europe, Tesla models equipped with matrix headlights have undergone a major upgrade – the headlights can automatically adjust direction according to the curvature of the road, providing drivers with more precise lighting and greatly improving the safety of night driving.
In addition, the update also involves support for adaptive high beam, which cleverly turns off specific LED light sources to keep the high beam on while avoiding dazzling oncoming vehicles.
For the new Model 3, the introduction of adaptive high beam is a major advancement in its lighting technology, which may benefit more older models in the future.
Automatic air conditioning mode has been optimized
Tesla said: “When set to automatic mode, the air conditioning will be able to cool the interior temperature faster, and the vehicle will also better regulate the high-voltage battery temperature, thereby improving charging performance.” It is worth mentioning that Tesla also claims that this air conditioning optimization will bring Cybertruck a quieter air conditioning experience.
Improved entertainment features
The update also brings an interesting new feature to Tesla Arcade, Tesla’s in-car gaming platform. For Beach Racing, one of Tesla’s most popular in-car games, a new leaderboard for the fastest clearance times at Supercharger stations has been added, allowing users to compete with other players.
